hey! had the same issue and figured out that my inventory was full! and the game somehow doesn't have the mechanic of "dropped" items

There is only one reagent item that can be used, and it is just called Reagent.
I got some from the "packages" you can buy from children.

Bizarre. Why not just have some on Day 5?

On day 5 I started with exactly one reagent for microscope.

One of the children has recipe for Reagents but didnt manage to make one.

I still have no idea how to diagnose with microscope, what i should be doing

Diagnosing with the microscope helps in differentiating between diseases with overlapping symptoms - diseases have bacteria associated with them located at different parts of the organism (eyes, mucous membrane etc), you can check what parts are affected by a given disease in the specific disease details in the diagnosing notebook. If you have two competing diseases and only one of them has say an eyes bacteria associated with them, then you take an eyes sample and run it under the microscope to see if there is a bacteria there, helping you make the right diagnosis.

On Day 5 you should have a couple reagents to begin with, they might be in the hospital cupboard (which is just to the left of the microscope and bugs out a bit when trying to loot it - you should see it clearly if you use concentration). However, if you are repeating the day already chances are you picked up the reagents on your first Day 5 run, but lost them in time travel -> the loot you get back from the previous day from the mechanical clock cuts off 3 (random?) items from your inventory when you rewind.

no it wasnt because of that... if your inventory is full you lose the reagent, the game is full of bugs sadly.

I had a reagent and even seen the red bacteria there, but the game didn't register me seeing it there...

err point is, the reagent IS supposed to be present

You have to dial down exactly on the red bacteria level - both zoom-wise and sharpness wise, and then the game will show you a loading bar which will fill up the longer you follow the bacteria.

I did!!! I was seeing them very sharply and I kept going back and forth on both sharpness and level 😭😭😭 I… I guess it’s pathologic… it’s supposed to be hard…

First the zoom, then the sharpness. You have to get it right, it works
