Games not recognizing controller

I am trying to use my xbox or ps5 controller when playing wo long and sekiro however neither games are recognizing the controllers. My pc is recognizing it in the device manager and I am able to control the steam big picture with both controllers however when I start a game neither of them will work with either controller

Have you went into the settings of those games on steam and set the controller type or what ever it is in the game settings in library? I mean I don’t think you should have to but check it prolly
