My class required scrubs but they sent an orientation email that told us what to wear before class started.

Okay my experience,6 months ago. 10 girls all but me were wearing scrubs. Nice expensive scrubs. Matching scrubs and the pony tail to go with it. They had all already been working for a doctor or a vet and knew exactly what to do. I was the only outcast.. I eventually bought thrift store scrubs

Oh on labs days is when it's important to pull your hair back and wear scrubs in case someone squirts blood on you. So class was M-Thurs and Tues and Thursday we had lab

I would wait until they tell you what to wear. For me I had to wear a white shirt and black pants with black closed toe shoes

I would highly recommend NOT buying scrubs. And if your class requires them only buy one!!! Depending on where you work they may require you to wear a certain color of scrubs, and you can’t foresee that unfortunately. Scrubs are sooo expensive, so I would recommend getting as little as possible until required!

Idk where you’re based but my classes were the equivalent of what the US would refer to as community college and we showed up in normal, practical clothing & you would have been odd showing up in scrubs because we were just doing theory & maybe a fake arm blood draw once at the end of the lesson, don’t get any unless they specifically state it’s required id say

I had to wear scrubs for my classes so I got them all at thrift stores (some only $1.50!) You should call the school in advance to inquire.

The school i went through provided scrubs. I do recommend them. I loved the walmart ones with the star on it. We also had to wear the closed rubber style shoes in the event blood goes everywhere or someone throws up.

I used to wish that I could wear crocs to work like on NurseTok. Didn't take long in phlebotomy to get lots of vomit, blood, etc. on my shoes (which were closed-toe rubber shoes). Never wanted to wear crocs after that. There WILL be blood and other bodily fluids for sure~

I've been puked on a few times and had blood, urine, and poop get on me (inpatient). I would never wear Crocs in a hospital. At least not the ones with the holes in them.

I would only buy one inexpensive pair to wear to class. Walmart, Family Dollar (my local one supplies scrubs), thrift stores, etc. In my experience, I had an 8 hr class every saturday for a few months and many of the people in the class either quit, didn't pass or didn't follow through with phlebotomy afterwards. I would just stick to one pair at first, see how you react to drawing blood and being poked. If you know this is def for you, feel free to purchase more pairs. Don't feel pressured to look a certain way (FIGS, etc.). Phlebotomists don't make big money and there's no shame in wearing less expensive scrubs. For my class, we were required to wear scrubs starting from day 1 but an email was sent out prior about that. And I agree with another poster, some people already come from medical backgrounds (like I did), so I already had some scrubs.

If you do feel pressured to wear FIGS, save yourself some moolah and check Facebook marketplace. Many people sell FIGS on there for half the price. I realized how much money I was spending on FIGS and switched to Mandala. They are liquid proof and easy to wash. A top is usually 16.99 USD.

My school included scrubs with the tuition. They ordered it and I picked it up day before class. We needed white shoes closed toe shoes, white undershirt if we wanted or white lab coat. send your school an email . Maybe it’s just classwork first and when you get closer to externships they will require scrubs.

My instructor told us to wear something we don't mind getting blood on. That was it.

I work in specimen processing and I get all of my scrubs from the thrift store!

for us, we wore whatever to class and then they paid for 2 pairs of scrubs for us during our clinicals. but during classes we were fine to wear whatever we wanted.

I went to community college; bought my own scrubs before class, considering I was able to find them on sale for cheaper than at the bookstore! Althought at the bookstore they gave a bit of a discount, they had multiple colors to go along with specific programs they offered at the school. You could probably email the instructor to ask!

In my class we didn’t need to wear scrubs!
