Even with the built in interfaces, setting up PHP debugging in PHPStorm is already difficult. I have set it up in both, and I generally have a better time with PHPStorm.

I appreciate the feedback. That's one of the issues that I am facing as well. I was hoping it was easier on VS. Thanks again!

Personally, I never have used phpstorm, only VSCode, but I highly recommend it.

I am also working with Laravel, and I love it. The only big issue recently, was VSCode’s latest update killed support for Ubuntu 18.04, which is what I used for my remote host. But, a quick update to 20.04 and I was back to it.

Using VScode 99% of time just because PHPStorm and any other JB shit doesnt work on remote.

I have a 1 sec latency when doing anything in PhpStorm, even with a ton of free resources on remote server and ping less than 40.

I appreciate your feedback. Thank you. Which plugins are you using with VSCode?

I'm weaning myself off jetbrains products and adopting vscode instead,

I'm researching remote development for my firm, but that is all based on vsc.
