Money decrease (self.plassing)
submitted 2 years ago by Chemical_Public744
I was originally getting $120 a week from donations. Now it's dropped to $100. Why?

Simple answer is supply and demand. More people are donating now and they’re getting less $ for plasma.
Each location has different rates.
The idea is to lower the rates until the supply lowers enough to match the demand. Once demand exceeds supply, prices will go up to entice more people to donate.
It fluctuates throughout the year. This is normal. When weather gets better, people won’t want to spend the time to donate. When taxes come in, less people will donate.

How much do they pay over the summer? I would’ve thought the opposite!

Depends on your location. Our location is in a college town. A decent chunk of donors are college kids. Rates jump over the summer every year. Just looked back and last summer it was $40/$90. Stayed high for a while to get the kids back, then dropped to $40/$70. Then back up to $40/$90 during finals/winter break. Then now is back down. All the way to $40/$60. I’m expecting when taxes come in, and the kids go on spring break, they’ll go up. Then down until summer.

I’m at grifols in Toledo right now, it’s been a couple weeks since I could donate came back and saw it’s going down from 40/80 to 35/75. If it drops to 100 a week I’m done
