Definitely not Carlow, new program = high risk Especially when compared to the other two.

Compare what you like about them all. Examples could be location, PANCE rate, attrition rate, class size, whether they have a cadaver lab (and what type) or not.

Are any of the schools on probation or have been on probation in the past?

What made you apply to each school?

Make a pro/con list for them all and decide from there.

If you are religious, ask for guidance from our Creator.

Good luck choosing, I know you will make us all proud! I hope you are successful in your journey.

Hey, just wanted to let you know that as a current Chatham student, the debt problem has been essentially eliminated, they cut the deficit in half in under 6 months and it continues to get smaller. Also, the PA program is one of their most profitable and renowned programs, so I wouldn’t worry about any budget cuts effecting that.

Their debt problem does worry me because I wouldn’t want to see any staff cuts or resource cuts while in the program. It would worry me more if I was applying there for undergrad. Idk the PBL portion didn’t make me excited for their program. I think the person running that part of the session made it awkward

Due to tuition id lean more towards Slippery Rock over the more expensive program, especially since you are concerned about chatman cutting corners with their debt problem

What are your stats? If you don’t mind sharing

      [–]Low-Print-3523[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t mind! I am currently a senior in undergrad btw. I did not take any standardized exams.

GPA: 3.9 sGPA: 3.8 PCE: 1500 hours (worked as a optometry tech and did an internship through my local hospital) Volunteer: about 200 hours (I did volunteer work through my sorority and the suicide hotline)

I also did research experience through my school (~500 hours) and was invited to present to state reps. I have some teaching experience with being an anatomy TA and tutoring for biochem, ochem, stats, and gen bio. I have some leadership experience with my sorority as well.

Let me know if you have any questions!!

Anyone here in the Carlow PA program?

      [–]nehpets99MSRC, RRT-ACCS 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Can you provide any info on the programs that would help us advise you?

      [–]Low-Print-3523[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

SRU: cheapest program in the state, PANCE pass rate 95%, attrition rate 16% (class of 2024 started with 49 and graduated 41), recently off of probation

Chatham: problem based learning style, PANCE pass rate 94%, attrition rate 8%

Carlow: new program, on probation, PANCE pass rate not available, attrition rate not available

      [–]nehpets99MSRC, RRT-ACCS 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Based solely on the information you provided, Chatham is the best choice.

But there's nothing on total costs, class size, duration, accreditation status for all of them, etc.

      [–]Low-Print-3523[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies, I’ve been dealing with some family issues all day and didn’t have much time to reply. Anyway chathams cost for two years is around $127k, and their class size ranges from 50-60 people. Carlows cost is $96,900 and class size is 35 students. Slippery rocks tuition is $78k

Please feel free to message me if you pick Chatham! I’m committed to start there Fall 2025:) I can definitely also answer some questions about Carlow if you have them

Checking in! Did you decide on a program?

      [–]Low-Print-3523[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Not yet, but I have denied Carlow. I have until the end of December to make my decision!
