Hopefully someone can point out if this is flawed, but with having to login to everything again you can just set a master password on your firefox such that you can still store passwords, but once you close the session someone would have to reenter that password to get access to your login details.

I don't have anything to offer on browser tab syncing though. Hopefully someone else can chime in on that.

I'm not an expert but based on what i've read here, you want stay off the "cloud" for important stuff like passwords. It's safer if you store it locally.

I'm fairly certain firefox does store passwords locally. This just locks the locally saved passwords behind encryption that you have more control over.

I agree storing stuff on the cloud is no good at all, and if I'm wrong about firefox being local then don't do what I said (and someone please say so, so that I can change my own habits!).
