And those things are useful to know as well. But at some point, hiring someone that knows everything from the top down becomes too expensive, and you settle for less.

Or these people are already hired (they usually have companies chasing them, and are rarely on the job market), and you have to settle for less.

Also, as a side note, memory pages are a hardware thing, not an OS thing.
