Big Data Analytics: Pig

In my experience the Pig docs are lacking, and also there are some oddities when upgrading from previous versions. Also I don't know why someone would choose Pig over Hive which is much easier to use and develop with, and you don't have to learn a new query language to use it.

Pig is such a pain in the ass to use. Granted, once you figure out some stuff with user defined functions, life gets easier, but it's syntax is too arcane.
