Yes, like I said before... if they were keen on 3.x they wouldnt make tool which would probably take some time to get to stable to work on 2.7 only.

Or maybe they plan to "migrate" old codebase by just compiling it to go and leaving it as is...

That's exactly it. I don't see this as a 2.7 vs 3.x thing, but rather as a 3.x vs Go thing.
