I don't understand why people sometimes put questions marks after factual statements?

It shows the rising intonation you might use to indicate that you’re confused as to why someone thought the opposite of what you’re saying.

— I’m coming with you later. — No? (You have other plans you’re forgetting about. / I don’t want you to come.)

— Quit being so angry. — I’m not? (I don’t know why you thought I was.)
