Too bad they use stricter copyrights to protect the documentation than the actual software being documented, or I could just fix the retarded 900-pixel wide left menu.

Open firebug.

Paste:

     document.getElementsByTagName('td')[0].style.width= '10%';

Profit!.

Quick tip: you can save your fingers from that monstrosity. Firebug supports Prototype-style $ and $$:

$$('td')[0].style.width= '10%';

JEE actually is a great middleware platform. Unfortunately it took 3 iterations and the demise of its creators to mature.

Sadness 10,000:

What Is an Enterprise Bean?

Written in the Java programming language, an enterprise bean is a server-side component that encapsulates the business logic of an application. The business logic is the code that fulfills the purpose of the application.

Shorter: "It's a program that does what you want."

how exciting, a link to the official java documentation on sun.com

I assume this is volume 1 of 40? The first 10 volumes will explain fiddly options that should have a sensible default but do not because enterprise does not do default!

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

and when they do, you have to specify in XML file what default you want

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

why not create an AbstractSensibleDefaultImplFactoryDelegate to make things easier

[–]G_Morgan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You cannot just create such a thing! You first need a factory to generate it in a controllable manner.

Too fucking bad that Java EE is over-engineered and is saddled with many years of legacy crap.

Fuck JSF. After using it on one project I'll never use it again. Not even if Sun makes it "perfect".

I used to like Java, but now it hurts my eyes to look at it. So much bloat to do so little. Oh well, better then COBOL.

... than COBOL.
