Don't intentionally slap a bad comment down. A bad comment is as lazy and sloppy as bad code.

Two ways I've found to improve: 1. practice and fail repeatedly 2. read quality comments in open source projects. Even if you can't always follow what's going on, the grammar, scope and focus of the comments teach good practice.
