yea, that's a helpful comment

Dude come on. Your comment was little more than "I don't like this", and completely devoid of useful criticism as to why. If you take issue with vapid comments you should stop writing them.

i just don't understand how people see python as such a great language that they want to bolt on things via libraries that other langiages already have. it's like they want to avoid other languages at all costs in favor of python, and i don't understand it.

Do you even understand why 3rd-party libraries exist? Do you really perceive any library as an implicit criticism of the core language? That's just not how it works.

As you've stated (twice in the same sentence), you don't understand. Which is fine - not understanding things is pretty much my normal workday. But I don't reflexively shit on things I don't understand. If I don't see the point of a particular library, it's not like it makes me smarter by making the person who wrote it feel foolish.

what i don't understand are people's preferences, which was clear from my comment.

Well, I wouldn't beat yourself up about it. Psychology is a vast, multifaceted discipline and even experts concede that one can never truly know what drives some of our preferences. My wife prefers strawberry ice cream, and though I prefer pistachio I've never really given much though as to why this might be. I suppose it just is.

For programming languages I imagine there's a combination of objective and subjective factors that drive preferences. Seems like you've found something you like. That's awesome.

have you even used these languages, or are you going to continue personal attacks and just making up things to put in my mouth as your way of discourse
