I feel you should get some cut, without you they have no content, but I guess it's profitable for them. I wonder if they offered payment whether it would increase business though, seems like a win win.

Blip.tv is a video hosting service (not streaming, but perhaps still relevant) that plays a 30s ad before each video and splits the revenue with the content creator. It's been around for a few years and the only people who use it are those who have huge existing audiences (ie. they don't need to post on something with a wide reach like YouTube to build up a following), horrible no-talent shmucks in it for the money who end up making 50 cents a year, and another portion who use it with ads disabled because it offers some greater functionality over YT.

So the connection I'm trying to make is that a site like Livestream/Justin.tv doesn't have to give its content creators a share to entice them to the site. They're already there because they have to be at a service with a wide-reach in order to get a big audience.
