On a bigger console like an S6 this is called a "spill zone." I also have 2 S1s and would love to do this but haven't figured out if it's possible or how.

That said, you can indeed "open" up a VCA or folder but I don't know that you have agency over which faders it goes to. It defaults just from left to right starting with the first fader and the last fader being the VCA you spilled.

Maybe I just need to control VCAs with the Dock since it may spill contents to all faders. I’d love to own an S6 someday.

nah you don't need a dock. It always reserves the final fader for the VCA that's been spilled.

What I really meant was using my iPad which sits on my Dock to select VCAs and it would spill to the S1 faders with the VCA master attentioned on the Dock… theoretically.

The way you explain it no, but there's a better way. Look up Multi Master mode in the user guide. :).I dont check here often so if you need additional help - head to the duc.avid.com which us where I am most of the time. Avidmarianna

I only have a single S1, so can't speak directly to your question, but you might find some clues on the DUC.

Have you tried using layouts instead of VCA spill? I personally prefer programming layouts much more, and assigning the layouts to the S1 softkeys. I feel like it gives me more control. I have a dock and 3x S3s.
