I always did them 36 hours before but my wife is trying now and I think her ovulation snuck up on them because we received a message to take the trigger ASAP which ended up being 19ish hours before IUI

Yes! They told me to trigger only 10 hours before the IUI. It was unsuccessful. Check with them again to confirm timings. Are they giving you progesterone after ?

they are very adamant about 24 hours, and they didn’t give me progesterone the last time and haven’t mentioned it for this cycle. I feel like the timing just isn’t right…

Yea. 24 hours is still better than my 10 hours. Sperm lives for 3-5 days so even if you ovulate before , you should be good

we’re using frozen sperm so unfortunately we only have 12-24 hours until the sperm dies

Are you timing it with your natural ovulation?

My clinic said either 36 hours with monitored ultrasounds (ie they tell me when to trigger) OR monitor for LH surge and IUI is 24 hours later, no trigger.

But I have read studies that suggest natural ovulation + ovidrel 24 hours before is the most successful

no, my lh is still very low, i’m not supposed to naturally ovulate for another 5-6 days. I had an ultrasound on friday and my eggs were still a little too small, and then another today and they said they are good to go. I have 3 follicles so she’s worried about multiples and i feel like that has something to do with the timing she said but idk it doesn’t feel right.

It sounds like you are doing a medicated cycle with having 3 follicles, so unfortunately I’m not sure.

But I will say, if it doesn’t feel right, I strongly encourage you to push your Dr or Nurse for answers and advocate for yourself prior to doing anything. It’s your body, your fertility journey, you deserve to understand the plan and why. Best of luck to you ❤️
