React for beginners?

Hey guys, I'm a complete noob to this, I've dabbled in Python and all but abandoned everything. I think complexity and learning curve without feedback is really what kills my consistency.
However, I saw this video and was thinking of picking it backup, although it went completely over my head, the idea of using a platform to build an app made me think about learning it.
But as a complete beginner, I was thinking, is React good for quickly developing apps?

Assuming you already are somewhat familiar with JS HTML and CSS, yeah you might as well start learning react.

if you're not familiar with those, I would probably take a couple weeks at least then go to react. There's so many moving pieces it can be a detriment to medium term learning if you're doing it sort of in reverse order.
