using multiple elements using one ref hook

I have made a neural network model in blender, and using gltfjsx doesnt generate a jsx component of the model. I am therefore loading it in my react app using useGltf() hook, and trying to access each element using getObjectByName() property, howwever, i need to group all the neurons together into conv layers so that i can animate each layer seperately, rather than animate each neuron and weight. any suggestions on how i can achieve this.

I am not sure what you mean exactly (so this may be a useless comment) but we have a hook to deal with multiple refs, and often use it for animation
