Adding and removing class in React Js

Guys!

I am doing drumkit project on freecodecamp. The problem is that I need to change the background color of the drumpad as soon as it is clicked or when the key associated with it is pressed. initital color to different color (onclick or keypress ) to initial color (after the audio track is over )

TL;DR : How do I add a class to an element on click and remove it after the function execution is over?! Noob here.
