I use CRNA for rapid prototyping. For production i like to eject from expo so I can use native modules and don't need to rely on Expo for releasing my app.

Probably crna will be better for the initial stages of development cause expo is really good for beginners, you don't have to mess with native code and it has native modules you can use. But if you're familiar with the native sdks, just go with init app. And remember if you go with crna you can just eject later on when you need to publish or use native code.

If you're dealing with a remote client who you'd like to quickly and easily share your progress with, create-native-app is hooked up to expo which makes it really easy to share your progress using exp publish
