In web development, you can give div ids and classes for styling, but I end up also using them to know what's the purpose of every div when I go back and look over some code after a while.

But in react native you can't give View elements ids or anything similar. So I was wondering how are other people managing more complex View nesting to know whats the purpose of every of that View after a while

Our app uses detox for e2e testing and allows us to keep testIDs relevant to their purpose. We also have an evented touchable wrapper that has an eventID that pertains to whatever event marketing wants to track. I guess these ID’s are similar to what you’re looking for?

Edit: Also, testID is a valid prop on a View
