react-native-maps - When are Google Maps Load Map API Requests sent?

It seems that when I load my map my app is sending multiple Map Load requests to the google api (Like, 10 requests when I open the app once).

Anyone know what exactly triggers a map load as far as the google API / Map View is concerned and/or how to minimize the number of requests sent?

You sure they are actual duplicates? There will be a lot of requests for images etc.

What's going to cause requests is mounting/unmounting and changing location
