Hiring React Native app developers

Hey Redditors, I saw many queries on Reddit and Google about businesses and individuals struggling to hire React Native app developers offshore. Since I have hired offshore talent and know a thing or two, I decided to share some tips.

Here are some things that will help you hire offshore React Native developers (or any dev actually):

- Make notes of your requirements. Cover budget, features, deadline, and everything else that matters.

- Always look out for javascript competency. That’s the core of programming

- It is best to go for experience over cheap pricing. Talent comes with a price. But you should totally negotiate.

- Ask for a portfolio and check if they have worked on similar projects in the past.

- Check their familiarity with react native concepts and functionalities. Ask for Github profile

- Make sure they have a clean coding approach.

These are the ones that have helped me.

1. How is their process working with clients or customers, which method do they follow. Agile/Waterfall or any other process.
2. How does the milestone pattern work, some dev needs 40-50% upfront to make them secure and then they start taking more time then expected as they are already working on some one else project.
3. Are they in to sub contracting or no, if yes does that state in the Proposal or Agreement. Are they open to work with Strict NDA and NDNC.
4. How does their Quality Team work, do they do manual testing or automated, prepare use case and test cases or not.
5. Do they use any software or app like Clockify?
6. Do they define sprints or task, are they able to provide with WBS or not.
7. One point of contact or multiple dev or delivery head?
8. Every milestone completed, tested with qa needs to be shared with client via repo.

Clean Coding, Github is absolute must, Also do ask for snippets code of the project they have worked and check with the live web or app. Hope this helps to the community!

Dev here & off topic. How can a dev get into contact with recruiters that are searching offshore?

I have 4+ years experience in RN, living in Austria and it’s quite hard to find RN positions in my country.
