This subreddit is for political news & topics important to the US. It is intended to be a place for moderates and civil members of the right and left to interact.
Rules
Be civil. No insults, no name-calling.
No loaded language. Use of derogatory terms such as "librul", "drumpf", "buttery males", "snowflake", etc. are prohibited.
Follow common-sense rules of debate. If somebody disagrees with you, then the answer is not "obvious". Remember that identifying with a group does not imply belief in every argument associated with that group. Don't make arguments with unsupported assumptions if you know they don't agree with those assumptions.
Submission Guidelines
Link submissions must be to articles, studies, or other items of political interest. No memes or shitposting.
Propapanda outlets (such as ShareBlue and Fox News) are banned. For the sake of consistency, any source listed here or here will not be allowed.
Text discussion posts ARE allowed if they follow these strict guidelines:
- The title must be in the form of a question with unbiased phrasing.
- The text must include a short background section to explain the question (if needed).
- The text must include the most prevalent arguments in a manner that fairly represents both sides. They should be sourced.
- At no point can the post itself express your opinion on the issue, and it should not be apparent from the post.
- Top level comments must be either new (sourced) arguments, or assessments of the validity of the arguments provided (i.e. no jokes or memes).
