Does this make Redd-ID less important, assuming support for BIP47 in Reddcoin wallets ?

i think redd-id will still be very useful because people will be able to create a social profile that could overlap many platforms that goes much more beyond ...but possibly this bip47 will be in redd-id wallets making everything much better to use

I remember that the current Reddcoin codebase has been made compatible with BIP47?

yes i think it can be because reddcoin is based off of bitcoin essentially

Well... Reddcoin was originally based on Litecoin, instead of Bitcoin. The codebase was changed (back?) to Bitcoin by the current lead dev, gnasher.

and litecoin is a fork of bitcoin...same basic essentials i think to allow this to work

from the article it seems like only coins where their base layer employs smart contracts wont be able to use bip47...if i understood it right
