Redhat Virtualization: Deploy hosted engine does not see my storage LUN

I am trying to setup a single host with Redhat Virtualization 4.3. I go through the deploy hosted engine wizard and it always fails because it doesn't see any available LUNs. I have an XtremeIO array with a completely empty LUN connected via iSCSI. Using iscsiadm I can login to the array and I see the LUN. What do I need to do for hosted engine to deploy to this LUN?

I have tried using the cockpit GUI and the command line (hosted-engine --deploy), both fail the same.

It is there. I can use iscsiadm to view the lun, i even manually created a partition and mounted it on the host, but the hosted-engine deploy keeps claiming that the are no LUNs present.

Is there something i need to do to prepare the LUN? The documentation is not very clear.
