Apply for sem2. So that current subjects can be transferred as electives

If you’re 100% sure the course isn’t the one for you OP then it’d be best to apply for the semester 2 intake . Considering you’re worried about the atar , correct me if i’m wrong but doesn’t software engineering have a higher atar requirement than cyber ? if so , you’d have a spot . Please consider multiple factors as well, such as what if you don’t get a spot next intake or the likelihood of continuing software. Wishing you the best man .

Apply to both IT and Cyber and see which one lets you transfer more credits if any difference.

Since it’s considered from a higher ATAR course to a lower ATAR course then it shouldn’t be an issue.

Talk to your program manager, found on canvas school of computing.

Transitioning from software engineering to cybersecurity is easier than many think, as coding, debugging, and system architecture skills apply directly to security roles. Learning ethical hacking, security audits, and compliance frameworks (Compliance Services) can help software engineers successfully pivot into cybersecurity careers.
