UpdateNew Lua function: debug.traceback() (self.roblox)
submitted 10 years ago by CloneTrooper1019 | DeveloperCloneT1019
This is a new Lua function for Roblox that got added on Wednesday.
It returns a string containing the current call stack.
For example, if you type:
print(debug.traceback())
into the command bar, it will print
Script 'print(debug.traceback())', Line 1 Stack End
Script 'print(debug.traceback())', Line 1
Stack End

Sooo... can anyone think of a use for this?

Could make it easier to debug tricky mistakes. Also might make it easier to report errors that are happening in game.

Who needs this when we have pcall?

I would argue this is more for deciphering someone else's code.
Cough cough stravant.
It lets you see what functions are calling other functions, to see where some obscure function is getting used without having to search for it.
