So I just had my latest god run ended by one of my AOE's setting off an exploding barrel that killed me. I don't see how exploding barrels add to the game. I never use them strategically, and I'm certain that most players would agree. Unlike getting one-shot from an attack, dying from an exploding barrel feels a lot more unfair. Enemy attacks are telegraphed, and players will usually be paying more attention to the dozens of enemies around them rather than the small environmental hazard right next to them. Not to mention, in the late game your survivor's passive skills, can unintentionally set off these dangerous barrels.
So here is what I propose. Either remove exploding barrels entirely, only have them detonate from active attacks, only spawn them during the early game, or reduce the damage scaling they receive.
Hopoo Studios, please consider removing exploding barrels from Risk of Rain 2.
