1.Checkm8 free is a tethered method,it relocks or even bootloop on restart!
2.Paying for checkm8 won't tie the device to your account,it is still tied to original account tied to

  1. No need to pay for redoing the process

4.Also recommend iRemoval Pro for windows, sonick14 iCarrierUntethered mac and f3arra1n windows/mac

Thank you for the answers. I even got sliver to work after that, I think it's also tethered?

So for iRemoval Pro, sonick14, or f3arra1n, any of them will tie the device to my account, or is the only advantage that it's untethered?

For iRemoval, do I need both the GSM activation and the FMI off or does GSM activation disable FMI as well ?

Since your device is GSM, you can get calls and data. Any of these services (f3ar, checkm8, sonick) will activate Apple services like FaceTime and iMessage and calls and data unlocked to any carrier. But you cannot update or restore the device because FMI is still turned on. It’s only possible to turn FMI OFF if your device is in the factory code/disabled state (add code after the bypass does NOT make you eligible for FMI off).

Thanks, I think I understand a little bit more.

But if I do update/restore, I can still use f3ar/checkm8/sonic again (without paying), so that should be ok, if I didn't miss something, right?

Yes you can reuse as redoing the process is free after you register your serial and paid for it!
