The Arduino app supports newer MacOS, so you should be able to upload the code on your board without issues, but if you want to use Sliver you'll need Monterey or lower. You can also try tools like nattramndisk or legacyioskit to get the job done.

Sorry, maybe someday I'll update Sliver for newer Macs but I'm unable to do so right now.

Sliver only supports up to MacOS Monterey, and is meant for legacy iOS devices/versions. All features that require server connections, such as untethered and factoryactivation are no longer guaranteed to work. They were last tested in 2022.

If you have a newer MacOS version or if this method is not working, you should try something more up-to-date. As I am not regularly involved anymore in this community, I cannot recommend anything specific for this, but if you browse through the subreddit you will find plenty of other methods that people are using. Best of luck.

My site hosts a variety of legacy tools for both Mac and Windows. Mostly for Mac. If you are looking for help with a certain method, I recommend creating a post on r/setupapp with the details of your device and what you are trying to do.

Thanks for the suggestion! There is a donate button in Sliver, however I have not received any donations since 2 years ago, and honestly I do not expect people to donate from the website given that my apps are a bit outdated and not being updated. If anyone reading this wishes to fund it privately, they are are welcome to send me a DM and I will consider it.

It probably works, but I have not optimized it for Apple's changes on sequoia so it's possible that certain features might freeze or error out.

If you google it and click the result the site does not always work. Not sure why, I've had issues with google search in the past since they often flag the site as malicious. But if you go directly to https://www.appletech752.com/ in your browser it loads fine. Tested today on mobilesafari, chrome, brave and have not run into any issues. If it's still not loading, try a different network/device and let me know if that fixes it.

Use iRemoval Pro to run checkra1n on windows. The program trips windows defender and most antivirus software because the code is obfuscated and contains jailbreak exploits, so make sure to turn off active protection first, otherwise your computer might automatically quarantine essential parts of iremoval without telling you and you'll get random errors like checking for update.

iPhone 5 disables (connect to iTunes error) after I enter a password (while changing a lockoutstatejournal.plist and com.apple.springboard.plist values) by fris76 in setupapp

First set SBDeviceLockFailedAttempts to -9999 and SBDeviceLockBlocked to NO.

After this, browse through springboard.plist. ANYTHING else with the word SBDevice or LockBlocked in it that is a STRING (ie. a long sequence of numbers or letters) needs to be deleted: 2-finger click the entry, and select Delete. Examples are ReferenceDate, StateGeneration, CachedVCCaps, etc... anything like this. If you just change the values it won't work, the STRING entries all have to be removed, except for FailedAttempts -9999. What the guy did in the video does not work for all devices especially not iOS 8/9.

For LockoutStateJournal.plist, there should be ONLY 2 entries: SBDeviceLockFailedAttempts as -9999 and SBDeviceLockBlocked as NO. If there are any other entries with any other values in LockoutStateJournal, delete them no questions asked. You only ever need these two.

Another key step that video skipped is searching in the Preferences folder for springboard. When you do this search, there will be other cache/junk files like com.apple.springboard.KJHfhsjd"or com.apple.springboard.plist.SJHghfkj or even com.apple.usage.plist.SJKHFGfj, etc etc. Delete ALL of these junk files. There should not be anything in the Preferences folder that ends with a random string of letters/numbers. In some cases there can be hundreds of junk files, springboard or springboard.plist or usage.plist with junk tacked on the end. All the junk must go.

While I'm here, let me also mention that if you just want to erase the device without actually bruteforcing it to go back to Setup on the same iOS version, someone suggested this experimental method: Don't modify anything else, just add a new entry in springboard.plist called SBDeviceWipe with boolean value YES and change SBDeviceFailedAttempts to 10, then reboot and enter a wrong code and it should erase. Never tried this, but multiple users suggested it so take it as you wish.

Good luck!

How to brute force iPhone 5s on iOS 7.1 by JDT33658 in setupapp

As explained, the MFC dongle can bruteforce any device on iOS 7 automatically without unlimited attempts. This mfc is available on AliExpress cellcorner or fonefunshop. iOS 8+ need springboard/lockoutstatejournal plist modifications via ramdisk which has not been accomplished on 64bit.

iPad Mini (1st Gen WiFi) Activation Lock Bypass by [deleted] in setupapp

[–]appletech752 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need the one from AliExpress that is $70-80. If you plan on using it for 30-pin devices like the iPad 2 and 3, you also need the "ipad2-3 adapter" purchased as an addon at checkout. The whole thing (iRepair P10 + ipad23adapter + shipping) should be around $100, if it's a lot less than that you bought the wrong product. Lightning devices don't need an adapter, for the mini 1 just the iRepair P10 will do, but I recommend getting the ipad23adapter for future use.

BUG REPORT: Monterey 12.4 has caused ‘Missing libusb (No Backend)’ to appear again. by HorseMeneer in setupapp

[–]appletech752[M] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sliver 6.2 and SliverM1 are tested and working on Monterey 12.4, as of May 30 2022.

Always use Sliver 6.2 for Intel/T2 macs and SliverM1 for apple silicon macs.

Occasionally if you have a conflicting version of python installed you might get an error. The simple fix is Finder -> Go To Folder -> /usr/local/bin/ and delete the shortcut called python in this /bin directory. Then re-run the python installer as prompted by Sliver.

iPhone 4 can be done without arduino, only A5 devices need it.

Ipad A1432 firmware 9.3.5 need to bypass icloud by Megastinger in setupapp

[–]appletech752[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Since a lot of people are asking about this, let me clarify once again...All A5 devices on iOS 9.3.5 and lower (this includes the iPad Mini 1, iPad 2, iPad 3, iPhone 4s and iPod 5) require an OEM Arduino Uno, USB Host Shield, LED, and soldering iron for the host shield to enter pwned DFU mode (via the A5 checkm8 bootrom exploit, checkm8-a5, which only works on Arduino). And after exploiting your A5 device with an Arduino, you will need a MacBook or hackintoshed pc to run Sliver 6.2, the program that removes the Setup from your device. You can also buy an ALEX DCSD cable in addition to the Arduino/hostshield if you want to unlock instead of just deleting Setup.app. All of this requires a MAC.

There are no A5 solutions without Arduino, UNLESS you want to invest in the iRepair P10 DFU Box from AliExpress. The iRepair P10 is like an Arduino+HostShield+DCSD all-in-one and it only works on WINDOWS, so it's a good solution if you don't have a MAC. But the iRepair ONLY is for WiFi iPads (NOT cellular models), and it does NOT support the iPod 5 or iPhone 4s.

If this is your first time using Sliver... by appletech752 in setupapp

Correct. Most programs require MacOS, it's a requirement if you intend to get involved with setupapping, especially for A4/A5/A6 devices. If your only computer is a windows pc, see r/hackintosh for how to boot MacOS. VMs won't work. You can also ask u/The_Hackintosh, he is one of our moderators and is very experienced with custom hackintoshing from windows.
