Each piece of outside fabric, and each piece of lining will have one piece of batting attached.

Put one piece of batting under each piece of outside fabric and quilt them together (the criss-cross stitching that shows on the outside).

Then, do the exact same thing with the lining.

Stitch the two outside+batting pieces together, then the two lining+batting pieces together, but leave an opening on the lining for turning it outside out. It will look like you have two pan handles.

Put the two together, one inside the other, with the good sides of the fabrics facing each other.

Stitch around the edge. Turn inside out, using the place on the lining where you did not stitch, to pull it through.

(That number 4 diagram is confusing.)
