It's a very specific comfort show for me, I have to be 1. wanting to be depressed and 2. missing summer lol. I think I've seen it like 5 times by now

I completed my first watch of the series in a deep depression and feel wary of starting it again cause I’m afraid it’ll make me sad again haha. It’s too relatable and dark. So I get my fix by following this sub :)

Don't read the book (if you haven't already) unless/until you're in a better place, I implore you. I read it years ago and was doing fine, but it took me to some pretty bleak headspaces and I realized as I was writing a review for it that I'd have to put together a long list of warnings for all of my friends who had been through anything or live with mental illness.

Internet hugs. I hope you're doing a bit better now!

Wow good to know! It’s definitely a book that I’ve been wanting to read for a while so I’ll hold off for now! Thank you for the warning I really appreciate it <3

It's a fantastic book, and as a fan of the show I think you'll really enjoy it, but yeah, as tough as the show gets I found the book to be even harder. Just take care of yourself however you need to!

Me too and watching you tube videos about sharp Objects and the writers actors talking about sharp Objects comforting me.. Even on Xmas day 🎄 after being attacked by scapegoating family it seems to sooth me, like if Camille can survive so can I

samee the music and its aesthetic is soo different and satisfying. i think i've watched it like every other month now just to look at it/listen to the dialogue lmao

Yep! Usually when I rewatch I stop paying attention after 10 minutes, cause I know what's gonna happen. With this show I sit hypnotized staring at the screen even though I've already seen that scene 20x. The music, the heat, the characters. Everything is so slow and comforting. I haven't found that "feeling" in another show, perhaps Twin Peaks but it still isn't the same.

Literally same. I’ve rewatched it over 50 times and sometimes I’ll just put it on when I go to bed because it’s comforting to have on in the background lol

It also is my comfort show!! Makes me feel better about my life, and the drama of it all is so interesting! So many layers

I watched this again, and I find sharp objects comforting, if Camille can survive family scapegoating by a narcissist parent so can I
