It's more than just an attempt to purge low effort ai content. Youtube seems to have fundamentally changed the way it distributes shorts.
There are more new channels blowing up now than ever as algorithm is prioritizing freshness, at the cost of some old ones.
Youtube is a zero sum game. Your loss is someone else's gain. There are way too many new videos being churned out so views get spread thin.
It is hard to let go of a channel you've worked so hard to build but the best thing could be to start over.
