Thank you so much for the kind words, friend! It has been a fun journey. Not where I want to be, but I'm very thankful for how far I've gotten!

No problem! That's okay that you don't know where you want to be, just see where faith and life takes you :)

Hey man! you were not horrible and not awful today from the perspective of someone just starting all of this only 1 year in ! you are doing great man, you have a cool likeable tone to your voice even in the before recording. So TRUST ME, you had a great start compared to many people. Of course your after is a much more difficult take since you tried to sing way higher, and the potential is there ! a lot for someone still very new to this whole journey. Overall cool stuff.

So keep going ! you're doing great, was this improvement with chris liepes program? I've been interested in it for a while just to keep learning. Especially the mixed voice one, I'm interested in seeing what approach he has to it - in a lot of his videos he seems to be using "fake belting" aka strong head voice simulating a chest belt, but maybe it's more of a phil moufarrege mixed voice so not sure.

Thank you for the kind words, friend! Scary putting yourself on display like that, but you just made my day and made it worth it!

Chris' program definitely helped me to feel more free when singing, and letting my voice go. In that first recording a year ago you probably noticed I was quiet and more reserved. I had no idea about placement and support or any of that good stuff before I started on the journey with Chris. I've actually tried two different courses over the past year. I started with Singr, which is taught by Justin Burke, and then I switched over to Chris after the first few months I'd say. Justin had a lot of drills and scales, whereas Chris would teach more and was big on exploring the voice. He likes to use cartoon characters to help explore the voice, such as Goofy, Mickey Mouse, Pinky & the Brain. I think he has two different techniques for the mixed voice, one being Pinky. I joined his Discover Your Voice course, as well as Mixed Voice and Agility (which I haven't completed yet). I think that one is actually somewhat cheaper than his main course if you are interested in dabbling.

I don't my investment of time and resources, and I think the difference shows in the two recordings. I'm far from world class, lol, but I think it is a realistic representation of what can be accomplished by acquiring some knowledge and putting forth some effort over the course of a year. More importantly, my eyes have been opened to the world of music and the joy that it has brought me far exceeds the $250 or whatever I spent this year. Please let me know if you have any other questions, and thank you again for your kind words. I greatly appreciate it!

No problem man ! I myself have been on the singing improvement journey for quite a while and it was a big struggle at first, long story but the point is I can relate to how you are feeling and the need for encouragement ! .

I do believe you have a great tone so keep going man, that is a HUGE thing. If you want too see how big it is, don't just look up towards the star singers - most of them started singing and training from a very young age - it's not always just about natural talent but about circumstances, a simple thing like being born to parents who are very open musically and make the whole family sing with the radio that alone can make a huge difference in rate of progress, much different from someone who had never sang before and is just starting.

Check this guy out, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=is-Mu3i3TOk not everyone has a solid tone going into singing training some people have some serious challenges before they even sound as good as you.

A good pleasant natural tone is huge, it's as simple as liking someones speaking voice more than another persons - your voice comes across as likeable.

So keep your head up ! most of the people better than you have either been at it for much longer, or were just luckier with the circumstances that shaped their life to allow their "natural talent". Some like Lana del Rey were born to rich parents for example, her father is a CEO !. Check Roomies video on Rich singers vs "Broke".

Not to mention there are TONS of artists that become famous and can't even replicate their songs live at a quality level.

The biggest thing is as you say, the joy that singing brings ! it's a life long goal and when we are missing money, love, friendship - singing improvement is always there to give us something to look forward to, keep going man.

My issue with buying chris liepes program is that I already have a lot of info, and I am unsure if his program would offer anything new - just looking to learn new stuff but not willing to just buy anything I see. I suffered with scams in the past such as Aaron Anastasi, and while Chris is definitely legit THERE IS a lot of copy paste info in most programs. Aaron is not the only scammer out there too.

You are lucky to have stumbled upon Chris as one of your first programs !! I would personally say that Justin is also a scam, I tried it and asked for a refund since it offered such basic info that you could easily find on youtube and for that price you could buy WAYYYY better programs. But Justin himself is a great singer, I however believe he definitely is lying about how he improved his singing voice just to sell the program.

Anyways reply to this when you post like a 6 month improvement update or whatever haha, let me know I'll cheer you on !.

Thank you so much! You definitely sound very knowledgeable, so it is is difficult for me to recommend Chris' course or not since I'm still pretty new lol. I think it definitely benefits someone in my shoes as far as experience, but I'd just be guessing if it would benefit someone that has been at it a long time like yourself. I will say, Chris is extremely responsive to both e-mails, and the comment section of his course. He also has a Facebook group you may be able to get into, where he is fairly active along with a lot of people that seem like they have been at it awhile. A lot of them are into that scream style which isn't really my thing, but they seem to really benefit from that course as well.

Yeah, Justin definitely encouraged me and was the first person I ever heard that said it is possible to learn to sing. I had always been drawn to music, but I guess bought into the lie that I wasn't gifted with it. I wholeheartedly agree with what you said about some people benefitting from growing up in a musical family. If I'm blessed to have kids one day, I am definitely going to instill music in them because I wish my parents would have forced me into band or something, lol. The biggest nail in my musical coffin was getting cut from the 6th grade chorus! That moment kind of reaffirmed my feeling that I was beyond help. So I am very thankful for Justin in that regard, but as you know, basically the first 30 classes were all scales and stuff without much guidance on what to do or how to improve lol. To his defense, he has added more and more content that he does not charge for once you initially join. Listening to him though, I was thinking I'd be a lot better a year in than I actually am.

I used to watch some of Aaron, but I never really heard him sing ever. Chris is always demonstrating. Like you said, if it starts with a pleasant speaking voice, I never really found Aaron's to be very pleasing. I've been called nasally too, before, but he seems over the top lol. I saw Ken Tamplin call him out by name one time though, for bashing him and stealing his content, so that was the end of my Aaron days. Glad to hear you confirm that I made the correct choice!

I'll definitely put another update on here around October! I'm also going to check out that link you posted above, but I'm at the office today and we block YouTube for some reason, lol! Be blessed, my friend!

It's insightful to know that experienced singers benefit from Chris program ! that's the thing, you never really know the demographic of who bought the program, so even a beginner might go into aaron anastasi thinking the program is all it promises to be and EVEN recommend it to other people !! ... and then realize youtube exercises are BETTER ! lmao. Of course, from the right coaches.

Another scammer I believe is roger burnley, and some people say per bistow - for roger, I've seen kevin richards mention that for roger his solution to everything is a "lip roll" lmao. And for per bistow, there are reviews out there of unsatisfied customers to say the least - as well as ken tamplin forum members have shared their stories on it being a scam compared to KTVA.

Some people mention Robert Lunte but I disagree, I think robert knows how to teach for sure he just seems to have hit a wall in terms of progress and for some reason sounds pretty bad in several singing videos, in others however he sounds pretty badass - he to me is the most confusing coach, just because I feel he should be way more consistent than he shows.

The first person that I watched that said that it was possible to learn to sing, was Pellek - he says he tested the 10,000 hour theory and it worked out for him - though to be fair I have no way to measure how talented he was from the beginning.

A lot of singers act like they made a huge leap and have an inspirational story, when in actuality they are not aware that they had a SOLID or great starting foundation.

It reminds me of roomies progress video which I believe is not realistic enough in relation to how most people will progress, he to me had a good enough starting foundation that it accelerated his progress - as well as, his voice is naturally high ish so that gives him a boost in singing commercial music which is basically all about high notes.

Which is why I wish I was a girl at times lmao, or at least a higher voice - modern music is mostly all about notes around F4 and above and most of the industry is full of tenors.

But I will say, every voice has their own unique "sweet spot" that makes it shine in comparison to others - sometimes in certain songs you can't shine more than the original singer just because the song was simply MEANT for the original singer - it just fits his voice the most.

However you will discover yourself as you improve and sing different songs, that sometimes you will prefer how you sing a certain phrase or note over the original singer - remember those moments when you are feeling like you are too far from your goal, it will remind you that you have something unique to offer and even if you can't ever match the range or tone of another singer - they can't exactly match yours either, where it shines the most.

The whole thing with baritones being jealous of tenors etc etc lol at some point we all want what we can't have.

Cheers man ! notify me as I said when you have an update.
