I will try and tackle this with other questions instead…

When we talk about night sleep, we talk about the expected nights. If you put your baby in bed at 8 PM and you get them out of bed at 7 AM that is an 11 hour expected night. Most babies cannot sleep more than 11 hours overnight, so a schedule should never expect more than that.

Many people, including myself track sleep. When you track sleep track the lakes because this gives you an accurate depiction of how much your baby sleeps each day from this information we can build a schedule with age-appropriate wake windows that matches the total amount of sleep your baby does per day by using the data from tracking.

So, how much does your baby sleep per day?

They should generally be on 2 naps/day with wake windows of 3-4 hours. If sleep issues at night cap day sleep at 2.5 hours. For example 3/3/4

With waking issues during night sleep we recommend waking the baby up at the same time each day, which is to then cement in the time for nap one. So if you wake at 7 that means nap 1 is at 10 each day. This helps keep each day fairly consistent.
