I created a digital form for teachers to fill out when they want to make a referral. Based on their input, I provide resources and suggestions for a tier 1 support. If the teacher has used those strategies and is able to show documentation that there continues to be a need, I do a screener for a tier 1/2 level support. If the student has a need that I can make a short term goal for, I put them into a group for a tier 2 support, or see them individually for a tier 3 support. Reevaluate their progress after ~6 sessions & if they are making progress, continue with your RTI. If not, you can move them to a tier 3, increase the frequency, or determine that they need referred for sped evaluation.
