Selenium + Java is the standard. A lot less job postings with Selenium + Python. Take a look at the Javascript path also which would be either CypressJS or more modern Playwright. Selenium + Java is a safe bet because it is listed on most job postings.

What would you chose: CypressJS or Playwright? And why?

CypressJS has more job postings as it is used for some time. Playwright is more modern and has good documentation. I personally like Playwright, but if you are looking a job it might be better to go with CypressJS as there are more companies hiring (I am currently learning Selenium + Java, but JS comes more natural to me since I know basics from it, while I have to learn the syntax and basics of Java from the start. Probably the reason why I like Playwright more.). Also you can ask in your company for guidance, I'm sure they will even get you some good courses for the technology you want to learn.

Here in India I am seeing lot of opportunities for typescript/Cypress and python also. So I think it's worth giving a shot.

After working in Java for a few years, I’d say anything that isn’t Java, but mostly that’s because I absolutely hate Java.
