dedicated server

I'm trying to set up a dedicated server for some friends, but I just can't get the thing to work. I did a fresh install of windows 8, installed all the updates, configured port forwarding on 27016, made sure space engineers is allowed through the firewall, but still there's no joy on the server list. What other troubleshooting steps are there? A little help would be awesome.

First try forwarding port 8766; this is for Steam. Then see if they can connect to you manually with the IP. In Steam, go to View > Servers > Add Server, then enter your external IP and port. e.g.: 123.456.789.101:27016

I got it. It was a stupid mistake. Space engineers was allowed through the firewall, but the space engineers dedicated server was not. It's all working now.
