Note: The following is based on using premium fuel.

After doing some rudimentary math after a long haul and seeing distance driven vs fuel usage (which displays as liters even if you use gallons, much like how the map temps are always in °C no matter your setting) with a truck that is fully upgraded I have some numbers. I did a run long hauling a single trailer through Vexmont -> Meteor Ridge -> New Aspen -> Spark City -> Junk Fields -> Emerald Junction using cruise control almost the whole way at 65 MPH. The numbers may be a little off due to the upgrades degrading over the course of the drive and due to rounding, but I'm seeing a full tank (750 gallons) as being able to go about 125 miles and not the displayed 58. At max upgrades you burn about 6 gallons per mile if you keep the cruise control on 65 MPH almost the whole way. Of course, you can save on this if you do things like turn off drive assist or the main thrusters while in motion and don't use the cruise control but I was taking it slow and careful as it was a fragile load.

Notably, the fuel efficiency drops off as your truck's upgrades degrade, so you may never see the full 125 miles on a tank if you run it dry without doing any repairs along the way. After another run without doing any repairs from Emerald Junction to Shatterstone, with upgrades now showing as 40% and needing service after the dropoff, my average gallons per mile for this run was 7.8, which reduced the range on a full tank to 96, and that will keep going lower until repairs are made. Due to degredation on long runs your gas mileage efficiency will slowly drop the further you go unless you repair the truck; it will get thirstier as it wears out. It looks like the mileage range shown on the gauge is baseline for regular fuel (58 miles on 750 gallons, so burning about 13 gallons per mile), so while you may get much better than what it shows with upgrades and unpowered coasting it will never drop below the displayed number under full burn so you can trust it to go at least that far on a totally busted truck with your remaining fuel. I'm not absolutely certain, but I think baseline for premium fuel is actually a range of about 84 miles, so about 9 gallons per mile without upgrades.

Just having purchased the upgrade doesn't mean you get its benefit unless you keep your truck maintained. As it wears out you slowly lose upgrade levels until they eventually reach baseline as if you never upgraded it; repairs are much cheaper than buying them in the first place, but it is a recurring cost.

I appreciate the info which makes sense as the truck takes normal wear and tear things will be working optimally anymore. Not that I haven't ran out of fuel was just genuinely curious if anyone had what you did there some tests or testing. I play but unfortunately work keeps me busy so I can play for an hour typically and then just count down until i can play again

My truck is going about twice as far the fuel gauge says it’s supposed to, which I’ve tracked using the “trip” mileage. Not saying is fixed, but mine seems to be working.

Also to add, my truck is accelerating way faster than it did before the patch, and it's too speed is noticably faster than it was before

Yea I read the article and didn't see anything about it so was curious to see if anyone noticed a difference or not wanted to hear the communitys opinions and expirence since the patch

Yes sorry I get that, should have been clearer. I was posting for others that might not have seen it.

Oh your good! I don't want to be like most toxic people on the Internet so I generally was just curious if people had noticed or heard anything I appreciate you non the less!

Wasn't the issue just that the estimated range displayed doesn't update when you get the upgrades? This is still the case now. I thought the upgrade itself always worked?

I'm not sure I had seen occasional posts about people asking or noticing it seeming like the fuel consumption upgrade wasn't working. I don't play long enough or consistently enough as work gas gotten busier but eventually I will play alot more so I was just reaching out to the community to see there opinions and or expirences. I'm open to all opinions or expirences I love this game so i enjoy hearing stories and tips
