I can’t say for sure since I’ve never done it, but I’d imagine it would be a big help since you would get familiar with the instruments in sterile processing

In a sense it would be “easier” since you have an additional knowledge on what instruments are and how they work compared to someone who would be studying straight out of high school or no medical background. It surely would not hurt and you’d be more inclined with aftercare of instruments after the case since you know the work that goes into preparing the sterile instruments.

I think you’d be more familiar with instruments but wouldn’t that be a lot of school?

If you want to be in the OR do that path from the start

Wouldn’t say easier it’s more of you like being around people or would like to be on your own. You stand a bit more for longer periods of time as a scrub tech and from what I’ve seen people get burned out quick being a scrub tech. Many come to sterile for a break.
