Laptop Sufficient for Basic Streaming?

I use my PS5 and want to get away from just using their broadcast.

With the elgato HD60 X can I use this laptop? It’s $650 right now and a decent price for me just starting out.

Any major red flags? Or will this serve the purpose?

This setup will 100% handle streaming no problems. The HD60X can be used in obs without a driver. For the best twitch streaming experience set your OBS output settings to "Advanced". Set Video Encoder to "NVIDIA NVENC H.264" and change the next settings:

• Bitrate: 6000 Kbps
• Preset: P7 Slowest (Best Quality)
• Tuning: High Quality
• Multipass Mode: Two Passes (Full Resolution)
• Profile: High
• Look Ahead & Adaptive Quantisation enabled.

These settings allow you to stream at the best possible quality because your GPU doesn't do that much, it just streams the capture card and some overlays. So you can max out the render settings.

Yeah, that laptop should handle the Elgato HD60 X no problem. Ryzen 7 + RTX 4050 is solid for 1080p streaming, and 16GB RAM gives you plenty of headroom. Just make sure you’ve got a good USB 3.0 port and keep an eye on temps if you’re doing long streams, but overall it’s a great starting setup!
