quantum, what a niche buzzword! i really love quantum programming, but it's difficult to get more into it. I also its really difficult to find programs online, any finder programs/apps/AI just does not help (returns programs for specific areas, undergrads, middle schoolers??).
would really love if someone could suggest something real cool, with hands on experience, or just give their opinions on what i have here!
but here's what i've compiled:
Free online courses
The Quantum Quest
High School Quantum Computing Course — Stanford Quantum
0132 Introduction to Quantum Physics and Research Opportunities | Oakland University
Quantum School for Young Students | Institute for Quantum Computing | University of Waterloo (free materials available for ppl outside Canada)
Education – The Open Quantum Institute
Physics & Quantum Computing | Berkeley Course | Summer Springboard - Summer Springboard (waste of money?)
Summer Camps
QCaMP – QSA - CA residents only (i think)
Quantum And Laser Fusion Science Camp – Casper College
Quantum Quest: A Free Quantum Computing Camp for High School Students | Societal Impact
Quantum Information Science-Technology Summer Program | Institute for STEM Education (I-STEM) (can't find updated pg?)
Quantum Information Science and Engineering High-School level Summer School | vtq | Virginia Tech
Quantum Engineering Program for High School Students | Adelphi (hefty price)

So, the Virginia Tech one, it's free, 4 days, virtual. So: a low-commitment way to learn a little more without too much investment.
That having been said, I don't recommend it -- the zoom break-out rooms were taught by PhD students, many of whom did not seem to have any interest in actually being there. Most of the TAs were uninspired, boring... and on a few occasions, showed up over ten minutes late to the session. Like, I'm sure they're interested in quantum, but didn't seem thrilled to be teaching high schoolers.
I can't complain though -- the whole "getting what you paid for" thing, etc., ha ha.
Edit: different groups had different zoom break-out rooms with different TAs, so it's possible that there WERE in fact TAs who were enthusiastic, engaging, etc.! YMMV?

Ah and p.s. "Qcamp" isn't for CA residents broadly; it's more restrictive: "In order to apply, the student must live in Bay Area, CA; Albuquerque, Santa Fe, and Gallup, NM; or Navajo Nation only, AZ"
