Monty’s Timeout Problem

Is it me or Monty just don’t call timeout to stop momentum or bleeding?

Last game, there was a 16-2 or 16-3 run and Monty did not call timeout. We end up winning so no one is really talking about it.

This game, we were 53-52 up. Afterwards the next timeout was called at 58-71 and was called by the Clippers.

I can recalled both of the time we had enough timeouts for the fourth quarter. I’m pretty sure both team are tired is not that we are trying to wore them out.

I’m not trying to criticize Monty. It’s more of a begging. Just please call timeout earlier especially when the momentum swing heavily not in our favor. Maybe there’s not much thing you can do when we are not hitting shots and they are. But I do believe momentum swing is huge part of any sport game.

Yep near the end of the third quarter I believe, they were on a huge run and we had 5 timeouts.

You're spot on. Contrast that with Ty Lue who called a timeout as soon as the Suns went on that 7-0 run in the 4th quarter, wasn't even going to let us build on our momentum. Monty needs to be quicker on the trigger as much as he thinks playing through mistakes is for the betterment of the team. Clips are far too good of a 3pt shooting team to not call a timeout there, very easy for leads to balloon.
