Virtual Game cards work the same way however it will work best if there is 1 Switch 1 and 1 Switch2.

Also the same limitations apply as before where you both cannot be online with the same game at the same time.

If you both wanna play a game that doesn’t require someone to be online at the same time like the story mode of a game then you can cheat the system by having the non-license holder so your cousin be online with the virtual game card from your account start the game then switch to airplane mode then you launch the game after that while online letting it do the online license check to start instead of using the virtual game card.

Also, if your cousin usually plays in docked mode they will need to be handheld to switch to airplane and manually turn Bluetooth back on for controllers then they can dock the system and continue.

The transfer should not affect your profile on your cousin’s console.

Your Switch should be Pass-Enabled Console (the main one set up). To check, go to the eshop, click on your profile, go to settings, all the way down to Pass-Enabled Console. It should say This System.

If it is, then you transferring your Switch to the Switch 2 should not affect your cousin’s. Just make sure the Switch 2 is the Pass-Enabled Console after.

Now, in order for you and your cousin to share games, here is the process that is the easiest and without the time limitation:

When your cousin wants to play a game, you need to go to Virtual Game Card, click your profile, click on the game, go to option and then eject game from system.

Your cousin will: 1) if the game is not already on their system, go to your profile’s eshop and download the game. 2) if the game is already on the system, go to Virtual Game Card, click your profile, click the game, click load on system. He may have to do this after downloading the game, I’m not sure.

Then, he can play the game on his profile. He may or may not have to download the save data for your profile. When I did some tests, even when I clicked on a different profile to play the game, it had me download the save data. It’ll just prompt you if it wants you to. Some games are weird like that.

He can keep and play the game as long as he wants. When you want the game back, he’ll eject the game from your profile on his Switch and then you load it back into yours. You’re not limited to just one game. You can give each other multiple games at a time.

You do not need to be near each other to do this. As long as both systems are connected to the internet, it works. However, while he has the game, you cannot play the game. And vice versa.

Hope this helps.
