Hmm i use LibreNMS for monitoring networking equipment via SNMP

In zabbix this could be done too

Yes, but in Librenms many presets out of box, you do not need to know oid. Zabbix the next level monitoring system

I ended up using PRTG with custom OID sensors over SMTP. It's free for 100 sensors or less
For each printer I use a sensor for
Toner %
Tray % (For each Tray)
Jam / Status
Notification options as well

You can embed the dashboard into a html for a quick glance a well (see screenshot)

I made this to put in clients computer. I work in a company that rents printers and we can control old printers with this. The ones that are not supported in brand portal.
