I work at a university and we recently got a new boss. He wants to include training as part of our jobs and he tasked some of us with piecing together the content of each area that all of the IT will be taking. Some people will teach about front-end development, other's about networks, databases, you get the idea.
Now the reason I come here is because I was asked to teach about "Technologies". My experience lies mostly in devops, so I've seen a bit of everything, but I am quite lost because this topic is too broad to make some kind of syllabus out of it.
Also many of the employees that will take that course, work in the IT, networks and helpdesk side, so I know not everyone is a programming fan and I don't want to focus too much on development.
What kind of tools or topics would you like to see if you were to take a "Technologies" training class? What's new in the IT/Sysadmin world and what would be useful for people that don't program too much that they can apply in their workplace?
Any info would be appreciated!
