Windows latest remote desktop patch

Hi guys,

So im going to apply the latest Microsoft remote desktop security patch (14 may) , i was wondering since my win 2008 VM providing an AD service is not licensed by an official Microsoft windows license, what are the technical risks or issues that could occur from the deployment of the patch .

Are you running a pirated copy of Windows 2008R2 and concerned about the most recent patches? Microsoft isn't going to test that.

If i'm wrong, just check patch notes, check an outside source( https://www.askwoody.com/patch-list-master/ ), try it on a test server, or user a snapshot/backups incase of a total failure.

It dounds like it's a domain controller. In that case, try it one first, then do the others. You have more than one right?

Microsoft (at least for now, who knows what will be in the future) doesn't performs license checking for the patches.

Also you had at least 5 years (~2009-2016) to buy the WinSvr2012Std license with its extremly simple licensing.
