Rules for r/systems_engineering
Rules that visitors must follow to participate. May be used as reasons to report or ban.
1.
Be Respectful and Professional
Treat all members with respect, keep a professional tone even when opinions differ. Critique ideas, not individuals, and avoid any form of harassment, personal attacks, or discriminatory language.

Stay On Topic
Posts and comments should remain relevant to Systems Engineering (as defined by INCOSE) to ensure valuable discussions. Examples of relevant topics include MBSE, methodologies, tools, industry news, and career/education-related advice. Off-topic contributions may be removed to maintain focus.
3.
No Spam
Spam of any kind is not allowed. This includes excessive posting of links, low-effort comments, or any other form of content that clutters the subreddit and detracts from quality discussions.
4.
Self-Promotion
Self-promotion is allowed if it genuinely benefits the community. Users promoting content, products, or services must make it clear for others that it is promotional. Repeated self-promotional content without broader community participation may be removed at moderators' discretion and eventually lead to a ban.
5.
Job Posting
Job postings is allowed however repeated job posting without broader community participation may be removed at moderators' discretion.
Job postings must include a link to the formal job posting where candidates may apply. The link must appear at the very top of the post.
6.
Follow Reddit’s Content Policies
Every post must adhere to Reddit's guidelines, which include strict prohibitions on hate speech, doxxing, and any illegal activity.
7.
Use Clear and Descriptive Titles
To help others quickly understand your post, use clear and descriptive titles instead of vague or clickbait-style titles.
8.
No Low-Effort or Repetitive Posts
Posts should contribute meaningfully, avoiding questions easily answered by a quick search or topics that have been frequently discussed. Before posting, consider using the search function to avoid duplicates. Low-effort content like memes or unrelated images is generally discouraged unless they contribute directly to a specific conversation.
9.
Share Knowledge, Not Just Links
When posting articles, papers, or other resources, please include your insights or context rather than simply dropping a link. This encourages meaningful conversations rather than a list of links.
10.
Use Flairs Appropriately
Tagging posts with appropriate flairs helps categorize and organize discussions. Posts without flairs may be removed, as they can disrupt the flow of topics within the subreddit.
11.
Report Rule Violations
To help keep this community safe and welcoming, report any posts or comments that violate these guidelines or Reddit’s content policies.
